•Inducted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society.

•First Chair & Section leader for the trumpet section.
•Quartermaster of the Leilehaua High School band.
•Student conductor for the Leilehua High School band.
•Started the first basketball band and JV football band for the high school.
•Student teacher for Wahiawa Internediate School under the direction of Michael Nakasone.
•Produced and conducted a 32 piece student orchestra.
•Lead trumpet player in a top forty rock band called “1974” and Tijuana Brass Band.
•Member of the performing Leilehua Madrigcals Choir.
•Four year music scholarship from Music Superintendent Richard Lum, University of Hawaii Music Department.
PROFESSIONAL CAREER in HAWAII
•Lead trumpet player in the top local disco bands of the era called “Pinky’s Rose Garden” and “Natural High”.
•Drummer / vocalist / Waikiki Shows.
•MC / Opening act for the Magic of Polynesia in Waikiki, 1999 - 2000.
EAST COAST TOUR
•Newport, Rhode Island, lead vocalist and drummer in the society bands in Newport.
1986 - 1998 “Johnny Kai Hawaiian Style” in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania,
Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire,
Maine, Vermont, Ohio, Virginia, Delaware, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, and Canada.
•Toured for 12 years as the producer, lead vocalist, MC for “Johnny Kai Hawaiian Style”
•Performed in major showrooms in the Catskill and Pocono Mountains. Browns Hotel, Nevelle Hotel, Grossingers, Tamiment Resort, Pocmont Resort, Concord Hotel, Villa Roma, Fernwood Resort, Mt. Airy Resort, Tamarack, including Atlantic City.
•Received the Employee of the Year award from Southland Corporation for the entire East Coast.
•Director of Services at the Tamiment Resort in Pennsylvania formerly owned by Wayne Newton.
•Johnny Kai Hawaiian Style performed for MTV at the 1988 Spring Break Event in Daytona, Florida.
•6 appearances on the “Good Day New York” morning show (special guest host/performer)
•Maury Povich Show & Montel Williams TV Shows in New York City.
•Selected to replace Carmine Apice drummer for the “Vanilla Fudge” band. (Howard Stern project)
•Johnny Kai Hawaiian Style show held the record for drawing the most people to Knoebles Amusement Park in Pennsylvania 10 summer seasons in a row.
1997 and 1998 Created the first ever awards for the Hawaii Opera Theater group.
1997 and 1998 Created the first ever awards for the Honolulu Symphony and Hawaii Musicians Union Local 677. (Don Ho & Governor William Quinn)
The Hawaii Music Awards was the first interactive voting website developed for the internet.
